Go the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) website at https://www.fdic.gov/bank/historical/bank/index.html and look up recent bank failures.  Print out the information about one of the banks.  Given the alternatives discussed in the text, how did the FDIC handle the failure?
Visit the website for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) at  https://occ.gov/publications-and-resources/publications/economics-working-papers/index-economics-working-papers.html select one of the research paper in their working paper series, and write a one-page abstract of the article.
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) routinely publishes a quarterly review.
