IMPORTANT NOTE: For this discussion, you will only complete one annotation as a way to practice the format. However, the major assignment–the Annotated Bibliography–requires FIVE annotations. Please be sure that you choose scholarly sources that will support your research.
One of this week’s main assignments is the Annotated Bibliography. In order to create a viable Annotated Bibliography, you must be able to evaluate your sources properly. Before responding to this discussion, take some time to review this information: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/553/01/. Next, review the video above (Note that once you start the video, you can expand it by highlighting the lower right corner and clicking on the icon that looks like a monitor. For your main post, construct one annotation that includes a properly formatted APA bibliographic reference and the narrative as indicated. It is highly suggested that you post by Wednesday but you must post the main post no later than Friday. This source should be one that you plan to use in the Annotated Bibliography due at the end of the week. Complete the annotation in a Word document and attach it for review. You are using an attachment so that we can review the formatting.
For the two peer responses, due before Sunday but posted on different days from the main post and each other, review two of your peers’ main posts and offer feedback as to whether they formatted the bibliographic entry correctly, and whether the narrative portion contains a substantive summary of the source, a clear assessment of the credibility of the source,’\ (one sentence) and a specific indication as to how the source is useful to research (one sentence). While you comment on the topic, the majority of your response must address the student’s ability to meet the requirements for the discussion.
